A post-modernist painter with an eclectic approach to art

Debbie.lee Miszaniec is a Canadian visual artist from Alberta Canada. Since graduating from the Alberta University of the Arts in 2008 she has been involved in a breadth of creative ventures in Calgary, including public commissions, arts writing, teaching, talks, events, exhibitions, volunteerism, and studio painting.

Debbie.lee currently works from her studio on the edge of Fish Creek Provincial Park in Calgary, where she lives with her family. When she is not making art, she can often be found reading, cooking, or enjoying a walk out in nature.

Fun Money Can I Lick It (Your Hidden Charms)

Debbie.lee Miszaniec

One of a series entitled Fun Money, artist Debbie.lee Miszaniec takes a playful look at her relationship with money. In Can I Lick It (Your Hidden Charms) it's "thinking about the sensual experience of consuming these fun money coins, literally and metaphorically, having permission to use them up rather than conserving them, stockpiling them. Are they really used, or are they transformed?" This mixed-media creation uses foil and acrylic on canvas.
